The Sub-Zero Forest in Akigami

Every winter the frozen forest at Akigami Onsen lights up with a one-of-a-kind spectacle of lights.  Accessible by either car or limited-time tour bus, come out see this icy landscape illuminated with a painter's palette of colors.  In addition to this wonderous display, enjoy a hot and hearty bowl of Hida-style ramen from Cafe Crystal House also located within the forest.  

This unique display can only be seen during winter, so be sure to take some photos to remember the occasion and don't forget to dress warmly!!

• Timeframe: Everyday between January 1st, 2025, ~ February 23rd, 2025  
• Bus Departure Time: 5:10 P.M. (From Takayama Nouhi Bus Center)
• Bus Return Time: 8:50 P.M. (Returns to Takayama Nouhi Bus Center)
• Tour Price: 3,000 yen for adults, 1,500 yen for children between 6 and 12 years of age.  *Cost of the bus ticket only*

• Points of Caution: Be sure to dress warmly, temperatures can drop well below -5C°.  Similarly, please wear footwear with good traction on the soles.
