About Hida-Asahi
The town of Hida-Asahi has a long history spanning back hundreds of years to before the foundation of modern Japan. This town has long been used as a passage to and from the domain of Takayama, a fact proved by the many temples and shrines you will find lining the quiet mountain roads here. Even now, the town of Hida-Asahi offers a passage from the busy bustle of modern metropolises to the relax and respite of countryside Japan.
Beyond the rural setting of Hida-Asahi, this place has long been home to many craftspeople who utilize the lumber and natural resources which are so bountiful in this region. With people engaged in furniture-making, green woodworking, print making, textile weaving, cuisine and carpentry Asahi's strong artistic legacy remains to this day.
While the way people travel and live has changed, the welcoming hospitality of those people who call Hida-Asahi home has not. We at the Hida-Asahi Tourism Association truly hope that anyone who visits can make wonderful memories when visiting this corner of the countryside we call home.
Tour Details
Tour Price: ¥10,000 per person (Special Campaign Price) *
Tour Length: ～3 hours (half-day)
Distance: 15k~20km
Maximum Number of Participants: 6 people**
Restrictions: Participants must be over 150cm in height, and over 13 years of age.
Starting Location: Roadside Station Hida-Asahi (See the Google Maps link below)
Included in price of tour: E-bike and helmet rental, tour guide fees, (if required) transportation from Takayama station for up to groups of four, light snacks, insurance fees. ***
What to bring: Please bring clothes and shoes that are comfortable to move in, something to keep you hydrated, and sunglasses or sunblock if needed. During the spring and autumn, it is advisable for participants to layer well and bring gloves as it may be cold.

*Since this is a new tour being offered by the Hida-Asahi Tourism Association, we are still in the process of polishing various aspects. We are offering it at a special discount. Please help us make this the best experience we can offer!
**Please know that it may be difficult to schedule a tour for groups of more than 3 people the same day. If possible, try to get in contact a few days beforehand.
***Please be sure to read the section regarding transportation to and from Takayama on the tour reservation page. For reference, it takes about 30 minutes one way to get from JR Takayama station to Asahi by car.
Tour Start Location
If you are using a rental car, please park in the large parking lot for the Roadside Station Asahi. There's no parking fee!
